June 17 marked a new day for the Inglewood Airport Area Chamber of Commerce (IAACC), as new officers were sworn in. The Annual Installation of Officers took place at the Proud Bird Restaurant, 11022 Aviation Blvd. in Westchester.
Outgoing President Roland Talton welcomed guests. Mayor James Butts led the Pledge of Allegiance and Inglewood educator Carol Raines-Brown sang the national anthem. Talton presented the President’s Award to Hollywood Park Land Co. and recognized the 2014-15 Board of Directors. Mayor Butts introduced executive officers and board members for 2015-16.
The big moment came when Talton passed the torch to new Chamber President Marc Little, Esq. In his first official president’s speech, Little expressed his joy and excitement about taking over the IAACC at a pivotal point in Inglewood’s history. With Inglewood’s new direction toward once again becoming the “City of Champions,” Little vowed to take the Chamber in a new direction as well.
Little is Chief Operating Officer for the Faithful Central Bible Church, and sits on the Boards of Directors of many organizations, including the Savannah College of Art and Design, the Governing Board of Centinela Hospital Medical Center, and Forum Enterprises, Inc.
Other newly installed 2015-16 IAACC executive members include:
· Vice President Gerard McCallum, II (Hollywood Park Land Co.)
· Vice President Chris Robert (The Robert Group)
· Secretary Gaby Pacheco (Los Angeles World Airports)
· Executive Director Erick Holly (Individual)
· Executive Board Member Norm Craven (Individual)
· Joyce Beard, CFO (Individual)
· Immediate Past President Roland Talton (Individual)
“We had a nice turnout. People were excited about moving in a new direction, and I think with the new board and help from the City of Inglewood, we’ll get a lot of things accomplished,” Holly said.
