There is a chance Frank Ocean will be entering the spotlight with his new album Boys Don’t Cry, sometime this month. The singer and songwriter hasn’t been in the spotlight much since 2012. His last album, Channel Orange sold more than 130 thousand copies and took the number two spot on the Billboard 200.

Ocean has kept a low profile over the past few years. Behind the scenes, he helped to write James Blake’s album. He has made a few random appearances on social media regarding politics and Prince’s death. He also made an appearance at Coachella earlier this year.

He has been extremely secretive about the release date for his album. On his website there is a picture of a library card with various due dates stamped on it. The dates go up to November 13, 2016 and back to July 2, 2015. People originally thought the project would be released last year.

Ocean is also working on the magazine Boy’s Don’t Cry to go with the album.

He created it last April and there was an image of Ocean sitting near a stack of magazines with the picture of a racecar driver.

His fans have been anticipating the long awaited project, especially after someone made a fake Twitter account with false information about the release date. The post from the account said the album was to drop on June 3rd. Fans responded to the post telling Frank Ocean to stop playing with their emotions. It has been a year since the album could have been released.

Though no one knows when Ocean’s new music will drop, his record label has invested over 2 million dollars in the project. There have been rumors that the new album has influences from the Beach Boys on it. Blake is one of the few artists who have actually heard the album along with Chance, the rapper. Chance said the album is amazing and Ocean is working on a master piece. He believes that is why he is taking so long to work on the project.
