LA Lounge to host Turkey Health Fair

LA Longue of Inglewood in association with Our Global Humanity nonprofit will host its annual Holiday Turkey Giveaway and a Health Fair on Saturday Nov. 20 at 2521 W Manchester Blvd in Inglewood beginning at 10a.m. until supplies last.

Families and individuals will be offered free health screens and provide with a turkey and bag with an assortment of side dishes to complement their Thanksgiving dinner.

“We have always made it our responsibility to give away turkeys during the holiday season, but this year one of our valuable members decided to add the health component and we think it’s going to be something that is both necessary and rewarding to our community,” said Aaron Moore, LA Lounge owner and managing partner.

Additionally, Moore added: “I also want to really thank Our Global humanity for their contributions. This is a non-profit that has been doing a lot of good work under the radar and we are most appreciative of their board members for stepping up for our community.”

Tony Wafford, a member of the lounge, is no stranger to advocating for good health in the Black community and he is responsible for implementing the health screenings.

“I just think it’s the right thing to do because it is so need in our community of Black and brown people. It’s good to have a turkey and side dishes, but what good is it if you are in poor health or worse don’t know you are in bad health,” stated Wafford.

Anyone is invited and the event will last as long as the supplies.
