In June, our District shared that The Inglewood Teachers Association (ITA) and Instructional Leadership Corps partnered with Musicians at Play (MAP), an organization of professional musicians that collaborate with schools throughout Los Angeles county to mentor youth musicians. During the summer music camp concert, our amazing students were able to showcase all that they have learned over the summer by performing various songs, playing a wide range of musical instruments, including, violins, trumpets, flutes, clarinets and saxophones. We want to congratulate our students on a job well done. Thank you Musicians at Play, Bertrand’s Music and all of the IUSD staff who supported our students during this summer program.
Bolt Up Academy Commencement Ceremony   Our District would like to congratulate 14 of our outstanding students for completing the Brotherhood Crusade curriculum training with the Los Angeles Chargers Bolt Up Academy. Through this community based partnership and completion of the curriculum and comprehensive training process, students are provided with internship opportunities to experience the work environment of a professional NFL team department, and a variety of other paid internships in several vocations. As a reward for their commitment and dedication to Brotherhood Crusade and the Bolt Up Academy, students participated in a stadium tour where they had the opportunity to get a first-hand look at the Los Angeles Chargers locker room, the owner’s suite and interact with football legend and former Chargers player, Marcellus Wiley. During their tour of the locker room, students were given goodie bags with personalized sports apparel, including reusable water bottles, towels, hats, a football and more! Our participating students will be transitioning from training to internship programs, as well as being Game Day Ambassadors. Congratulations IUSD students. You continue to make us so proud!
