In honor of America Recycles Day, about 200 of Inglewood’s Kelso Elementary School students gathered at SoFi Stadium to learn more about the importance of recycling and repurposing materials, and how to incorporate sustainability into their daily routines.

The event included educational games, scavenger hunts, hands-on workshops, and tips on how we can all contribute to preserving our planet. The kids also had the chance to tour SoFi Stadium, home of the Rams and Chargers.

Also hosting the event was Ball Corporation, an official SoFi Stadium sustainability partner and maker of the infinitely recyclable Ball Aluminum Cup, which they supply to fans at Rams and Chargers games in an effort to promote the importance of recyclable materials.

Recycling will lead to a brighter future for our youth, environmentally and economically. According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, a 2016 study found that recycling and reuse activities in the United States accounted for 681,000 jobs, $37.8 billion in wages, and $5.5 billion in tax revenues.
