On Saturday, January 15 at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino in Indio, California, it was a night of legendary entertainment. Two of Motown’s most beloved and iconic groups, The Temptations and the Four Tops, took the stage in front of thousands of eager and deeply appreciative fans.
The evening was one for the books- so much so, that it led me into deeper thought about how fortunate we are as Southern California residents to have such top-tier, elite entertainment from some of the best artists to ever live, right at our fingertips at all times.
It’s safe to say that as a Los Angeleno, at any given time, on any given weekend, we could be planning our next local extravagant night out, jamming alongside our favorite artists and musicians.
But in the year of 2020, as the world was rocked by a pandemic, live entertainment and nights out came to a screeching halt. Now, in 2022, as the world settles into its new normal, the appetite for live entertainment has returned for many.
Los Angeles has always been recognized as an entertainment powerhouse. But this past week, as I sat back, admiring the brilliant show put on by The Temptations and the Four Tops at the Fantasy Springs Resort Casino in Indio, California, I was pleasantly reminded of all that Southern California has to offer- not just Los Angeles, but far beyond, as well.
As Southern Californians, we are blessed with so much to see, and so many beautiful places to go, in so many different surrounding cities and areas. And in the upcoming weeks and months, I plan to guide you through some of these places and events that you may have been overlooking for far too long.
From San Diego, to Santa Barbara, to Palm Springs, to Catalina Island, and more, I’ll be highlighting some of my own adventures and beloved destinations within a 100-mile radius that you too can enjoy. Stay tuned.
