The Rams return to SoFi Stadium this Sunday, Oct. 24, to take on the winless Detroit Lions(0-6), and it seems likely that quarterback Matthew Stafford’s dominance in New York against the Giants will carry into this week’s matchup against his former Detroit team. And although this will be Stafford’s first time facing the Lions, he’ll be treating this week just like any other.
“It will be just another football game once the ball is snapped,” said Stafford.
The Lions have been off to a rough start this season, as they are currently the only winless squad in the league. The 5-1 Rams, however, have showcased brilliance almost every week thus far, only falling to the undefeated Arizona Cardinals in Week 4.
Rams head coach Sean McVay will also be up against a familiar face in Lions quarterback Jared Goff, who played for McVay and the Rams from 2017-2020. The reunion has garnered much attention from football fans.
“I think there’s going to be a lot made of it because he’s the quarterback and it’s such a significant position,” McVay said of Goff, adding, “but it’s about the Lions versus the Rams, and we’re going to put together a great game plan to be successful and try to go get our sixth win.”
Kickoff is this Sunday at SoFi Stadium, at 1:05 p.m. PST.
