On May 20 th , the Inglewood Council approved a number of agreements, including:
A 3-year agreement with American Global Security, Inc. for unarmed security
guard services for a contract total of $5,864,679.60
A non-financial agreement with the South Bay Workforce Investment Board for
the City yo provide work experience opportunities to program participants
Funds for Inglewood Police to purchase 3 camera trailers, in the amount of
$233,349; forensic services from the City of Glendale in the amount of $150,000;
and increased fees for City towing services from $184.17 to $203.17 and daily
storage fees from $48.26 to $56.00.
Resolutions were approved affirming road maintenance and rehabilitation funds from
Senate Bill 1 into the 2025-2026 Fiscal Year Budget and amendment of the 2024-2025
Capital Improvements Program Budget for $130,000 for space improvement designs
throughout City Hall.
The mayor and councilmembers rejected 4 claims against the City, involving personal
injury, property and vehicle damage.
During public comments, resident Charlene Sanders thanked Assistant City Manager
Yakema Decatur for addressing homelessness issues. “They are not there anymore and I
thank God. There is still a problem where Enterprise Car Rental used to be, but they
took care of the trash,” Sanders said.
District 1 Councilwoman Gloria Gray congratulated City employee Alani Perkins for
earning her Master’s Degree. “Getting a Master’s Degree, while holding down a fulltime
position and just all the demands that come with life is not easy,” District 2 Councilman
Alex Padilla said. “Alani is a good example for our youth.” District 3 Councilman Eloy
Morales added.
District 4 Councilwoman Dionne Faulk announced the mother of Cinder Eller-Kimbell,
Inglewood Police Sr. Community Affairs Liaison, has passed away.
“She (Cinder) has such a big heart,” Mayor James Butts said. “Her mother suffered for
such a long time. She will definitely be missed.”
No meeting next week due to the Memorial Day holiday.
