Statement from Inglewood Mayor James T. Butts Jr.
It is with great sadness that I report to you the death of Parks Commissioner Chairman, Willie Agee from complications associated with his treatment for Lung Cancer. He was 90 years of age. He passed away at 7pm tonight (April 27th) at the VA Hospital in Long Beach. While undergoing treatment in Long Beach last week he contracted the coronavirus.
Willie Agee was a 50 year Inglewood resident and the Willie Agee Playhouse was named in his honor.
Services have yet to be scheduled.
