Inglewood Housing Development Begins

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Inglewood witnessed an exciting kickoff to a major housing development on January 29th. Industry leader JPI commenced construction of the Jefferson Inglewood complex, a new housing venture blending market-rate and affordable living spaces, nestled at 939 W. Manchester Ave. This exceptional multi-family project springs up in a dynamic transit-oriented zone within strides of the Metro K-Line and a stone’s throw from the LAX Automated People Mover.

Nestled in a neighborhood with historic charm and a bright outlook, Sunti Kumjim, JPI’s Senior Vice President, expressed enthusiasm about enriching Inglewood’s legacy by catering to its growth with the addition of this much-anticipated housing project. “Our goal is not only to match but also enrich the spirit and progression of Inglewood with the Jefferson project, assuring a future of prosperity and vitality for the community,” Kumjim added.

The development represents a significant stride in Inglewood’s ongoing evolution, resulting from steadfast collaboration between City Officials, the Architecture and Engineering Team, and financial backers. Ever since breaking ground, this eight-story building promises to revitalize city living with 222 contemporary units, including studios, one, and two-bedroom homes, out of which 11 will be designated as affordable housing options.

Modern living is at the forefront of Jefferson Inglewood, with premium stainless steel kitchen devices and in-unit washers and dryers. The community isn’t short on luxe comforts either—residents will have access to a swanky pool and cabana, a chic clubroom, state-of-the-art fitness amenities, and an exclusive rooftop deck.

Strategically situated, Jefferson Inglewood is only a short metro ride away from El Segundo and the heart of Los Angeles’s innovative Automated People Mover. Local sporting and entertainment hotspots like the Kia Forum, SoFi Stadium, Hollywood Park, and Intuit Dome are conveniently linked via a forthcoming transit solution designed to streamline local travel and reduce congestion.

However, some larger scale infrastructure developments face timelines stretching further than expected. Fitch Ratings signals potential delays in the LAX Automated People Mover, hinting at completion around April 2025—later than its original 2023 end-date—citing construction setbacks and management tensions. Likewise, the anticipated Inglewood Transit Connector, benefiting from a substantial federal grant, might greet its first passengers two years after the 2028 Olympics, now aimed for a 2030 opening. These hurdles haven’t dampened the spirit or needs of Inglewood, which is in pursuit of additional funds for setting up the 1.6-mile railway that would bridge the gap between the Metro K-Line and its dazzling entertainment district.

Prospective residents can pinpoint early 2026 in their calendars as the beginning of a new chapter when the doors of Jefferson Inglewood open up to a fresh wave of community members and neighbors, setting the stage for a vibrant and interconnected life in the heart of Inglewood
