The City of Inglewood is definitely on the move and as publisher of this newspaper it is always our goal to provide the positive stories and content for our readers. As we continue to watch the COVID numbers, many businesses are welcoming back customers and getting back to a sense of normalcy as we head towards the summer.
In the vine of supporting and uplifting businesses in the community, it disheartens me to hear about some things that are quite frankly shocking to stomach.
I’ve been in business in Inglewood for nearly three decades and have been a member of the Inglewood Airport Area Chamber of Commerce whose sole job is to support and uplift the business community, and now it has come to my attention that the head of the organization has registered herself as the owner of this paper with the Los Angeles County Registrar and Recorders office.
Halimah Ginyard is the chambers new executive director and the thought that other businesses could fall victim to her is troubling and upsetting.
Ginyard has a long history in this City, as many did business with her father at his postal business on Hillcrest. For her to betray the business communities trust, by attempting to possibly divert advertising revenue to herself is unconscionable.
As we continue to figure this out, please feel free to reach out to me if you have ever done business with anyone purporting to be this newspaper whose name is NOT Willie Brown.
Thank you for your continued support.
