The California Air Resources Board (CARB) released the first draft of the Advance Clean Fleet (ACF) rule on August 26, 2021. This rule, a first-in-the-world, seeks to push forward a requirement that every new truck sold in California be zero-emission by 2040.
This rule directly addresses the disproportionate health risk that communities, especially low-income Black and Brown, in California experience due to their proximity to heavy truck traffic such as distribution centers, ports, and rail yards. Over 10,000 Californians and multiple industries urge CARB to push a more aggressive policy to protect the most vulnerable communities, stimulate the economy, and achieve cleaner air in California.

On September 9, 2021, at 9:00 am, CARB will hold the first virtual public workshop on its recently released first draft of the ACF rule. This workshop will be the first opportunity for the public to learn more about the policy. CARB will present an overview of the rule, and the public will have the opportunity to give their initial comments, reactions and open a discussion about the rule. All participants must register for the workshop.
