City of Inglewood Mayor James T. Butts, Hip-Hop icon Songwriter Snoop Dogg, Managing Director of SoFi Stadium and Hollywood Park Jason Gannon
Rams Vice President of Community Affairs and Engagement Molly Higgins and Chargers Director of Community Partnerships Heather Birdsall were all on hand as The City of Inglewood is hosted its annual Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway Presented by Pepsi on the grounds of SoFi Stadium and Hollywood Park on Nov. 23.
“This is a unique Thanksgiving. So many of us are hurting because of the pandemic. I want to tell all of our residents to have hope. In addition to our COVID-19 Debit Card program, our COVID-19 rental relief program, we are exploring having Inglewood as a site for a COVID-19 vaccine trials program. It was an honor for the City to bring together Pepsi, SoFi, Donlee Farms, the LA Food Bank, the Rams, the Chargers, Snoop Dogg and our wonderful City of Inglewood volunteers to feed over 2,500 families, over 600 seniors this Thanksgiving. The City Council is here for the residents and our best days are ahead of us,” said Mayor Butts.
The event served 2,500 Inglewood residents, providing turkeys donated by Don Lee Farms, a bag of sides and additional items from Pepsi, Frito-Lay, and Los Angeles Regional Food Bank. The City also worked with the Los Angeles Rams and the Los Angeles Chargers to bring the giveaway to life. The event was drive-thru only, and participants were pre-registered to receive the items.
