Dear Inglewood Unified School District (IUSD) Staff, Students, Families and Community:
In our continued commitment to serving our community and providing current information, we have some important updates in this week’s message. Please be advised that our newsletter will be distributed twice a month during the summer break. Our regular, weekly distribution will resume in August 2021.
Congratulations IUSD Students
The Inglewood Unified School District Board of Education, administration, leadership, and staff would like to congratulate the Class of 2021 on concluding the 2020-2021 academic year with a fierce sense of determination, perseverance, and strength. All of your hard work and dedication has led you to this culmination and we are exceptionally proud of those who have accomplished this historic milestone. To our students who have been promoted to either middle school or high school, we know that you will continue to do great things as you move forward into the next stage of your educational journey. We look forward to celebrating even more of your achievements when you return for the new school year. In addition, we also want to recognize our high school seniors, who I know will continue to work hard, even beyond high school and toward future endeavors. Congratulations IUSD Students.
2021 Summer Hours of Operation
The District has implemented its longstanding practice of a 4-40 work schedule to decrease energy costs during the summer effective Monday, June 14, 2021 through Friday, July 23, 2021. During this period, the District’s hours of operation are Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. through 6:00 p.m. The entire District will be closed on Fridays with the following exceptions:
Custodians
Maintenance and Grounds Department
School Police
Child Development Center (CDC)
Please kindly note that the District will be closed for an observed holiday on Monday, July 5, 2021. Our operating hours for the remainder of the week from July 6, 2021 through July 9, 2021 will be 8:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m. The summer 4-40 work schedule will conclude effective Friday, July 23, 2021. Our normal operating hours will resume effective Monday, July 26, 2021.
Grocery Kits Distribution Update
Our District is providing ONE free Grocery Kit per child at the following sites beginning Monday, June 14th:

The kits contain 7 days of breakfast and lunch, including a gallon of milk and fresh bulk produce. The kits may include various grocery items each week such as cheese, cherries, apricots, peaches, avocados and cucumbers.
